污导航福利网址 takes its role as the primary conduit between seafood producers and consumers in New South Wales seriously. We support both the industry and the Australian public on important issues that impact the supply of, and demand for, seafood.


We do this by promoting and participating in informed debate on a range of issues which impact the health and sustainability of marine environments, and therefore seafood supply.

2024: Submission on the appropriate level of Total Allowable Catch and Total Allowable Effort determinations for listed species/share class

As Australia’s home of seafood and a cornerstone of the seafood industry in Australia, SFM welcomed the opportunity to submit to this inquiry into Food Production and Supply by the Legislative Assembly's Committee on Environment and Planning.

2021: House Standing Committee on Agriculture and Water Resources: Inquiry into the Australian Aquaculture Sector

As Australia’s home of seafood and a cornerstone of the seafood industry in Australia, SFM
welcomed the opportunity to submit to this inquiry into the Australian aquaculture sector by the 
House Agriculture and Water Resources Committee. 


2021: Senate Standing Comittees on Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport re: the Fisheries Quota System

污导航福利网址 made a submission to the Senate Standing Comittees on Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport, regarding the Fisheries Quota System. In this submission, SFM provided perspective on the current quota system as an industry leader and representative.


2020: Evaluation of Country of Origin Labelling for Food

污导航福利网址 made a submission to the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources' Evaluation of Country of Origin Labelling for Food. SFM's submission strongly supports mandatory Country of Origin Labelling for all food products, including in the food service sector.


2018: Response to the Hawkesbury Shelf Marine Bioregion Initiative

In response to the Hawkesbury Shelf Marine Bioregion Initiative, 污导航福利网址 welcomed the opportunity to comment on this NSW Government initiative from the Marine Estate Management Authority.


2016: Green Paper on Fisheries Management Reform in Queensland

In September 2016, 污导航福利网址 contributed a submission in response to the green paper on Fisheries Management Reform in Queensland.


2016: Inquiry into the Regulation of Australian Marine Fisheries and Aquaculture Sectors

污导航福利网址 welcomed the opportunity to provide input into the inquiry into Productivity Commission inquiry into on Commonwealth, state and territory regulation of wild capture marine fisheries.


2014: Inquiry into the Current Requirements for Labelling of Seafood and Seafood Products

污导航福利网址 and its onsite retailers adhere to the Fish Names Standard and strongly support the prospect of country of origin labelling of seafood extending to food service.  污导航福利网址 therefore welcomed this opportunity to provide input into the inquiry into the current requirements for labelling of seafood and seafood products.


2014: Commercial Fisheries Reform

On Thursday 29 May 2014, 污导航福利网址 made a formal submission to the Commercial Fisheries Reform. The submission was developed in consultation with various Commercial Fishing working groups.
