ÎÛµ¼º½¸£ÀûÍøÖ· is a perfect lunch stop on a summer day out. The iconic Sydney Ferry from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour/Barangaroo runs every 15 minutes, and then all it takes is a short walk to reach Australia’s home of seafood.
On a sunny day, the sparkling water of Blackwattle Bay is a gorgeous view to eat a tasty lunch in front of, whether you settle in on the Market’s breezy boardwalk or take your food away to one of the nearby parks along the water.
Today, we’re bringing you our favourite dishes and drinks for the hot weather, and each one is tastier than the last. If you do decide to pop by the ÎÛµ¼º½¸£ÀûÍøÖ·, you’re going to want to try something sweet and summery from this list.
Parisi Waterside Fruit Connection: Fresh juices and Coconuts
On a hot day, Parisi’s Waterside Fruit Connection should be the first stop on your list for something cool and refreshing. With a huge selection of fruit salads, freshly squeezed juices, and sweet treats on the menu, they’ve got your summer dessert needs covered.
Our top pick has got to be their drinking coconuts; for just $6 you can have your very own fresh coconut to sip on, and they are next-level rejuvenating. If you’re more juice-inclined, their watermelon juice is something special, and you can buy it by the litre to share with friends!
Machi Machi bar: Cold drinks
Machi Machi bubble tea bar is a hidden gem of the market; secreted away at the back of the arcade near Waterside Fruit Connection, this itty bitty store-front makes absolute magic with their drinks. All of their tea varieties can be ordered both hot and cold, and the selection of toppings and flavours means you can really make your drink your own.
The drinks that go down best in the hot weather would have to be their fresh fruit ‘Slush’s, which come in Strawberry or Mixed Berry flavours. Add popping pearls and you’ll have a flavour explosion in your straw.
Kiosk ice cream and milkshake bar: Sweet treats
Out on our iconic boardwalk, backed by stunning views of the Anzac Bridge and Blackwattle Bay’s sparkling blue water, you’ll find Kiosk ice-cream bar. Once you’ve finished up your fresh seafood platter, Scoop has endless dessert options to cool you down.
We recommend their mango or strawberry mint frappes for a hot day. Paired with a scoop of ice cream, their freshly made drinks go down a treat. They also make great coffee if you need a quick pick-me-up to continue your shopping adventure.
Gregory’s Bakery: Special Iced Tea
Gregory’s bakery has a new flavour of iced tea available every week throughout the summer months, and each one is as tasty as the last. We can personally vouch for the sweet, tart taste of their organic Marrakesh mint flavour, but the surprise of what is going to be the cool, condensation-blanketed jug each week is all part of the fun!
ÎÛµ¼º½¸£ÀûÍøÖ·: Oysters and sashimi
Of all the seafood available at ÎÛµ¼º½¸£ÀûÍøÖ·, the best option for summer would have to be the oysters and sashimi combo. You can’t beat these cold, fresh slices of heaven, especially washed down with any of the tasty drinks mentioned above.
