The Seafood Excellence Awards are less than one month away, and ÎÛµ¼º½¸£ÀûÍøÖ· is pleased to announce that the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) is confirmed as the prestigious Gold Sponsor for the 2022 event, for the sixth consecutive time.
ÎÛµ¼º½¸£ÀûÍøÖ· CEO, Greg Dyer, said, “We are thrilled to have the continued endorsement of NSW DPI this year: their contribution adds significant prestige to the event and to our award winners.
Furthermore, the financial support that DPI's sponsorship provides is vital in ensuring that we can consistently host a high-quality event that reflects the efforts of the nominees and broader industry.
This partnership is demonstrative of ÎÛµ¼º½¸£ÀûÍøÖ· and NSW DPI’s shared vision for a sustainable seafood industry.”
NSW DPI works to increase the value of primary industries and drive economic growth across the state and engages with the seafood sector to promote industry development, natural resource management, research, and food safety.
NSW Minister for Agriculture Dugald Saunders said the NSW Government is working hard to make it easier for the fishing sector to do business.
"We’ve worked with industry on a series of reform packages to reduce red-tape for fishers, provided industry support following this year's flooding, and encouraged business development through programs such as the $500,000 Eat More NSW Seafood program," Mr Saunders said.
"Our fishers and aquaculture farmers produce some of the world’s best sustainably harvested local seafood and we want to ensure they continue to go from strength to strength."
ÎÛµ¼º½¸£ÀûÍøÖ· would also like to thank our individual Award sponsors, without whose support we would not be able to deliver such an important event: Lindsay Australia, Fisheries Research and Development Corporation, KPMG, Commercial Fishermen's Cooperative, Aquarius Lawyers, ShoreTrade, Professional Fishers Association, K&L Gates, NSW Food Authority, and DEC PR.
With judging for the Seafood Excellence Awards now complete, ÎÛµ¼º½¸£ÀûÍøÖ· wishes to congratulate this year’s finalists, who have all demonstrated the best qualities necessary to deliver NSW’s amazing range of world class seafood.
The finalists in each category are invited to an invitation-only cocktail event at Pier One Sydney on Wednesday, 18th May where the Award winners will be announced.
This exclusive evening is the premier seafood event in New South Wales, welcoming the industry’s top players - commercial fishers and aquaculturists, retailers, exporters, wholesalers, restaurateurs as well as key government and environmental agencies, the media, and gastronomes.
After the event, the winners of the ÎÛµ¼º½¸£ÀûÍøÖ· Seafood Excellence Awards will be put forward as the NSW nominees for the National Seafood Industry Awards, which will be announced in September at Seafood Directions in Brisbane.
